"Home? Surely you jest, and it's a cruel one coming from you Kalvren. What could I possibly do back home, stripped of what I was, and marked by my wings alone for the shame of being named Forsaken. I found my brother here and lost him within the council's own halls, because of a traitor among those who's judgement is law, a traitor none knew about until Garric revealed him. I wasn't allowed to return then, why would they allow me to return now?"

" You are not being allowed to return as you are now, the council has debated long and hard about your case. You would not be returning as a Watcher, but as a Guardian, something I think you are rather well suited for. In addition the abilities and gifts that were yours will be restored. You should not have had to endure what you have, but it has been neccessary, and for that I am sorry."

She could tell that the Guardian was serious and nodded, the stiffness in her posture vanishing at his honesty. Rising from the boulder she stopped and looked back at Wyrd.

"Wyrd I... You can't go with me my friend, and I'm sorry. You've helped me tremendously and I can't repay you enough. I'm sorry but the bonds which bound us have to be dissolved, your needed here."

A single shimmering tear slid down her cheek and landed softly on Wyrd's plume. She could feel the bonds dissolve like salt held under water and turned back to Kelvren.

"I'm ready."

Kelvren nodded and took her hand, leaving Wyrd and the others behind. They reappeared in a smaller council chamber, that held only the old woman and two others. Silently they came and joined hands in a circle around her. Power flowed, colors vividly brilliant spun around her, through her and changed her. Dark grey wings lightened to silver, and places that had been sealed shut within had their doors opened. She didn't know how long it lasted, but when she returned to herself she was alone with Kelvren.

"You said you had a job for me to do?"
