In reply to: Wyrd 's message, "The Smell" on 14:17:18 01/09/03 Thu

"Wyrd don't attack. There's something deeper going on here than you realize, and it must be played out. Nemesis is involved, and she will keep coming after these two until she either captures them or they are killed in the struggle. She wants, nay needs them alive."

The form was only a faint outline so as to not betray either her or Wyrd's presence. Nemesis had no intentions of having the two elves killed, and would most likely be very unmanageable if they were. The one speaking silently to Wyrd was Valenthe, and she hoped for everyone's sake he listened. Nemesis wasn't the essence of evil the way she liked to call herself, but the elements of anger, vengeance and mischief combined. Evil played only a small part in her make-up, for the one that was truly evil given form was, or rather had been depending on your views, Dru'Riden. Presently she had plans of her own that included using the two elves, and if everything went as she planned they would be unharmed. She had to convince Wyrd and Tyrsis of this so that they would leave them to fate's design. The fire was beginning to burn itself out, and none from the Hogoromo clan had suffered so much as a burn. The demon knew what was occurring, and waited patiently for his quarry to move deeper into the woods which was why he hadn't struck as yet.

"Please Wyrd, if you ever trusted me, then than trust me now and don't move on that demon. You and Nemesis are evenly matched, she has nothing to fear from you, and likewise you have nothing to fear from her. The battle between you would be a stalemate. The only one that can revoke her life is Father Himself and you know it. Please don't attack, go and help the people extinguish the fire."

The faint outline vanished to reappear near Altrez. She was a busy Guardian, since those assigned to her charge were many and frequently on opposite sides of the world. She didn't bother hiding what she was, the more Guardian she appeared to be the better. She gave him only a warning, letting him know that Nemesis had no intention of forgiving him for humiliating her, nor for escaping her fury. The Bard she had for some reason forgiven, perhaps because she would be more useful alive than dead. Either way Immarra was safe, but Altrez was still in potentially serious danger. With both messages delivered she returned home to watch from a distance.
