Interference by another of her kind using an attack that disrupted his flight though it didn't kill. Fools, the only way to kill a gaki is when it's in it's mortal form. That gaki will follow, and will undoubtedly make a meal of the interloper before capturing the treechild. Of course that assumes it has room for her soul after devouring the two that were traveling with this new Forgotten. Even now he returns to where he first approached the treechild to find a meal waiting for him. Onimaru paced silently, ebony claws clicking almost rhythmicly against the stone floor.
