He wasn't disobeying Onimaru, he was just putting off the inevitable punishment till later. At the moment he was shadowing(forgive the pun) Treerunner and her party, following them in the demonrealm outside of their sensing ability. He could watch and move among them, even move through them and they wouldn't feel a thing. A neat trick he had learned centuries ago that was still useful in tracking prey that was just as dangerous as he was. The wolf bothered him though, he could feel tremendous power, contained and held in check, like it was something from a higher plane. It was an unknown, and unknowns were dangerous. Where they were heading to was already known, but the reason why still nagged at him, he was fairly certain that those of the Hogoromo clan had moved elsewhere but with his attention devided it was difficult to remember. He could feel Onimaru's commanding presence ordering him to report immediately to Crystin but he resisted, he was positive that he could wipe out the others and capture the Treerunner, if he was only given enough time.
