Only a traveler on a well worn path
Walking streets my ancestors have followed
A parade of something new
Though I am nothing short of mediocre

Filth and bitterness compose me
Make me less than the fabric of greater men
My tears are as yours
Fragile and worn by time and memory

Only a gentle ripple on a pond's surface
No visable mark on this world
My work added to that of one thousand others
Slowly wearing away that which is
The same
