The link between her and her brother stretched and snapped, leaving behind an emptiness that she could not bear. Howling out her grief, long drawn out yowls of pain, she reached up to the gem inset on her forehead and using her claws scratched it off, letting it shatter into miniscule particles of dust that swirled on an unseen breeze. With the gem shattered she became a complete shadow, one with no shape and memories fast fading. She would not, could not exist without her twin, and the meowing heard was from not one new Shadow watcher, but two.
