He began to recognize the song after a few verses. It was fairly old, and it was a lullaby, which was convenient for the moment as everything drooped off into slumber, save the two singers. He knew this one quite well in fact, he'd sung it many times to the children to get them to sleep. He'd learned a lot from the elves, and they had seemed to respect his gift of music, and even allowed him to learn it. In return, he'd given them some Forgotten music to learn, and they had been very pleased. The languages hadn't been that far apart, though some things just didn't translate.

The air was rich and the music was as liquid as water as it flowed through the air. Images of notes played along in his mind and danced along with the music that seemed to come from no where.

And he remembered that day when he mistook a powerful drow as one of the townfolk and been cursed for it, just because he was singing. Drows had no good ear for music except their own.

But that was past, and the music was of the moment, ever shifting. And he lived in the moment.
