Subject: A delicate maiden...

A young girl, her face surrounded by waves of rippling ebony, enters without a sound. Wearing a soft pink gown that clings to her slender, shapely figure, trimmed with brilliant gold, her eyes deepen to purple. In her arms she cradles a small kitten, the colour of smoke, its soft grey paws hooked over her arm in a relaxed pose. The girl says nothing, but looks around shyly, stroking the kitten with a gentle, slim-fingered hand. Her rosebud lips remain tightly closed, as she curtseys, and turns away. The light catches on a gold headband she is wearing. Oddly, a srtip of gold extends down to her forehead, and is inlaid with a single, glittering ruby.
