Police wish to question this man over rape
Police are investigating the "horrific" rape of a woman who was abducted in Ballymena earlier this week.
Two men forced their way into her car at Clarence Street in the town at about 2330 BST on Tuesday.

They drove from Ballymena to Belfast and back again over a three-hour period, assaulting the victim, who is in her 20s, on a number of occasions

They then abandoned her at Ballyutog Hill road. Police said it was a prolonged and horrific attack.

Brutal

Chief Inspector Stephen Martin described the attack as disgusting, adding "it was both brutal and sustained".

He said it was important that people help police catch the "dangerous and vicious" men responsible.

Mr Martin said the woman had shown great bravery and had given good descriptions of her attackers.

One of the men was described as being about 24, 5'10 to 6' tall of a slight build, with a Ballymena accent.

He had dark hair which was short at the back and sides, and was wearing a navy fleece and blue jeans.

The second man was in his late 20s, about 5'6" or 5'7" tall, of a slight to medium build with dark ginger hair and a jutting lower jaw. He spoke with a strong Belfast accent.

A CD-fit has been issued of one of the men.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who can help trace the movements of the car, a silver Rover 400 with an HUI registration.

It was found abandoned in a field at Lisnafillon Road, Ballymena on Wednesday morning. A green four-wheel-drive vehicle was seen driving off from that location.

Anyone who saw these vehicles, or any suspicious activity in the Clarence Street area on Tuesday night, is asked to contact the detectives at Ballymena police station on 028 25 65 3355.
