Subject: Research Request

If you could possibly help with this research, please give him a call.

Hello Mr. Hyatt, my name is Javier Nevarez and I am a veterinarian with the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. We are conducting a research study on thyroid hormone levels in rabbits and need to collect blood samples to determine if currently available tests for thyroid hormones are valid in rabbits. Thyroid disease is being identified in pet rabbits and could also affect production rabbits. I was wondering if the LRBA may be able to assist us in this endeavor. We need to collect blood from 40 New Zealand Whites and 60 from another breed, preferably a mid to large size breed. We would travel to the facility to collect samples on site.  I would appreciate any help you may provide. I can be reached at 225-578-9657 or via e-mail.

Sincerely, Javier Nevarez
