...Bonnie forms from the remnants of Tropical Depression Two
in the southern Gulf of Mexico...

at 4 PM CDT...2100z...the center of Tropical Storm Bonnie was
located near latitude 23.2 north...longitude 88.7 west or about
410 miles south of the mouth of the Mississippi River.

Bonnie is moving toward the northwest near 12 mph...and this general
motion is forecast to continue tonight. A gradual decrease in
forward speed and a turn to the north is expected on Tuesday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph... 75 km/hr...with higher
gusts. Some gradual strengthening is forecast during the next
24 hours.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 30 miles from the
center.

The minimum central pressure recently reported by an Air Force
reserve reconnaissance aircraft was 1007 mb...29.74 inches.
Interests in the north central and northeastern Gulf of Mexico
should closely monitor the progress of Bonnie over the next few
days.

Repeating the 4 PM CDT position...23.2 N... 88.7 W. Movement
toward...northwest near 12 mph. Maximum sustained
winds... 45 mph. Minimum central pressure...1007 mb.

The next advisory will be issued by the National Hurricane Center
at 10 PM CDT.
