Dear !!!
Just to let you know that you are correct when you say that I was invited initially just to help with the ribbon and hoop routine. As it did already have a structure and some choreography.
However, the music that it was being performed to contained vocals that would not be permitted in competition. The decision was then made to find a new piece of music which I would choreograph a new routine to. This new routine obviously includes many of the elements that they have been working on in the months that Sarah had already been coaching them for.

I am conscious that I am not held in particularly high regard by some members of the Rhythmic Gymnastic community. I spoke to Sarah about this and said that I was happy that my involvement with the choreography could be kept quiet until the girls had a chance to compete. If they failed to qualify for the Test Event due to my involvement I would feel responsible.

On 18th Oct 2011, I received a text from Sarah that confirmed this arrangement:
"Hi, Jo (Coombs) would like an invoice please for the train ticket and the money we are paying to cover the shift you gave up £50 ??? She asked what for and I said u helped with the theatrical side and artistry! That ok with you?!?! We'll tell her later that u did the routine ! ;))))"

I can honestly say that the time that I spent with the team back in August, I will always remember. The girls are a fantastic, hard working and dedicated group. They responded well to my slightly un-othodox style and seemed excited to be experimenting with a new choreographic structure.

However I am also aware that the time I spent with the team is insignificant to the mammoth time that Sarah Moon has dedicated into trying to secure a British place at the Olympics. She has my respect and admiration for being prepared to take on the challenge.

I apologize for the long winded nature of my response but I hope it helps.

Due to the fact that the team is self-funded I have not billed them for the minor expenses I have incurred. I feel honored that Sarah thought to ask me and thrilled to have had the chance to be involved in the experience. Lets hope that they will be afforded the opportunity to perform in August 2012.

Regards,

Ellen
