Hang in long enough in the sport and you start to be given the scores . If you have no longevity (or money )then too bad.( a strong (smart )federation behind you is a must) . Look at the USA recently
It will always be the established nations that do well See no names who come out of GEO, UZB, AZ etc and they are always ahead then disappears soon after .

There is always the chance UK can entice someone to compete for the UK from you know where for the next Olympics
