Subject: What Happened to the stags last night

We had our opportunities and blew it," Fairfield coach Tim O'Toole said. "Today was terrible. We had veteran players and couldn't get it done."

We've let that happen too often," O'Toole said. "We have to do a better job

I love how your coach takes Zero Responsibility for each loss and makes ambiguous statements that reflect poor preformance by the players........
Give an undermanned..undersized..hard working team some credit...

Take some responsibility...
I didnt see that game last night..
But...for example... I Regress to last weeks activities when the stags did battle against Canisus

I am pretty sure that the gameplan of playing a zone defense against Canisus(A good shooting team)was not the greatest move in the world.... It only allowing them to shoot 60% from the floor....
Now...Surely this loss can not fall directly on the shoulders of the players.... Yes...some of the outcome was due to the poor play of the stags on the court....
BUT..
Generally you dont play a zone against a good shooting team... it caters to their strength(SHOOTING JUMP SHOTS)
ALAS... all the players can do is play....Its too bad the odds are stacked against them before they evven take the court......

Coaching episodes like this is like going into a gun fight with a knife.....
There is possibility to win...If ONE POSSESSES SUCH COMBAT SKILLS AS A JACK BAUER OR STEVEN SEGAL...
but chances are ..you are doomed from the start

Now don't get me wrong... I have not seen the game last night with my own eyes...
But it would not suprise me if something happened that placed the players on the court at an extreme disadvantage from the "get go"
