Subject: Attendence

was it me or did it seem like there was more the 1511 @ the game last night? I think it is crazy for the MAAC to schedule anything against the NFL. I think we will be lucky to break a grand tomorrow @ the yard. I would like to know if Fairfield has any say when games are scheduled.

The Saints next face Rider on Saturday at 1 p.m. The game was originally scheduled for 7 p.m. It was changed to avoid a conflict with the NFL playoffs.

Amen,

I made this point months ago and last year, Joe Stag I believe you disagreed when I made this point. What is your opinion now ? Seems like they do it every year during NFL Wildcard weekend and the second round.

Just my opinion.

Q,

I don't think I ever said we should schedule games against the NFL..... because I think just the opposite. I have recommended Noon starts for saturday basketball games to avoid the NFL playoff games. And an early time is the only time that works. I have even gone so far as as emailing in the NFL schedule recommending that we not play on Giants, Jets or Playoff times. I did not do it this year.

It is difficult to beat the NFL.

Assuming the time can be adjusted to our needs with the arena people, it's just common sense to arrange a starting time that would be most attractive to the likely people who would want to come. To most sports fans (not counting the hard cores who attend every home game), Fairfield basketball ranks behind stuff like the NFL, and UCONN, etc. An educated sports fan also knows well in advance when these games are likely to start. Therefore, why not schedule a time that allows the true sports fan an opportunity to see both the big events on TV, and the Stags in the Arena?

Wouldn't this be solved if the Men played at 1:00 P.M. today instead of the women? Again an example of the women's program dictating the times. It's also wonderful when the Friday night games won't begin until 9:00 P.M. Keep biting the hand that feeds you. And they wonder why attendance keeps falling.
