Re: Whats Happening to Han? -- JoeStag, 09:16:17am 01/08/06 Sun, [1]
Alumina,
Great point. I agree, that Todd/Han ballhandling control could be an issue. And that has to work itself out, they both need to move more without the ball. That is probably why MVS has got about 15-20 mpg at PG/2G. I think we need both Han and Todd to get minutes, so I don't think they cannot play together, they have to have better chemistry..... or Han moves to shooting guard since he is shooting wel from the arc.
However even when Han and Todd are not playing together, Han does not seem like the same player.
I think the bigger issue is Todd and Han playing better defense. OUr offesne was not theh problem yesterday.

I think that is a good point. It rings true with me.

Line Up change -- Rave, 01:54:03pm 01/09/06 Mon, [1]
I think everyone has noticed that Terrence does not fit in well with this group of players. With that in mind, I suggest the following change in the line up and rotation:
Starters: Han, MVS, Herbie, Max, and Mamadou
remaining rotation: Middleton, Bell, Terrence, Ogelsby
Terrence needs to be read the riot act. He is talented but doesn't look for the open man anywhere enough. You live and die as a team. His actions at the end of the Canisius game showed his lack of team play. The other 4 players should not have even come down court. Terrence must be reigned in and made to play team ball. If he doesn't, then he should be benched or dismissed if he becomes a morale problem. I love his talent, but we have too many other players with offensive skills for him to dominate the ball and the number of shots taken during a game.

Re: Line Up change -- ghostman, 06:03:38pm 01/09/06 Mon, [1]
Disagree - I want the ball in Terrance Todd's hands in crucial situations. He is a scorer and our go-to guy. I think sometimes he is too tentative - teams go on big runs vs. FU because he doesn't shot enough. The go-to guy has to be selfish and take over games. TT has shown that he can do this.

Re: Line Up change -- Red Rugger, 06:40:09pm 01/09/06 Mon, [1]
Disagree Rave. Outside of spurts of Mamadou & Middleton, TT was the only one who played with any intensity on Sat. True at the end of the game he went a little crazy, but at that point I think he felt he had to do it all by himself. I think Han and Herbie starting (this year)would not bode well for FFLD. FFLD's porous defense would get worse and the offense would also suffer. One aspect TT brings to the offense is he can create his own shot (I haven't seen this yet from Han or Herbie). Also, by putting TT on the bench (pre season all MAAC player) the disruption to the team would be immense. Just my thoughts. I think TOT may have to pull the reins in a little on TOT though.

Re: Line Up change -- you have got to be joking me, 07:32:54pm 01/09/06 Mon, [1]
Terrance Todd only waits for the situations to where he can sometimes and sometimes not be in the spotlight, the hero...he outweighs his talent with is freshman display of leadership. I say get it out of terrance's hands unless you can say he is shooting well...he was the wrong guy to go to that night. Lets not forget whether TT can create his own shot, drive the lane or whatever...he shouldn't take the whole game to wait till the final 5 minutes to do so and if he is as great as everyone claims him to be he shouldn't be making the mistake of going 8-23 again. Come on...you can't sit there and say that LEADERS, SENIORS, TALENTED PLAYERS don't sit back and evaluate their own game and think...if my shots aren't going down let me do soemthing for my teammates for them to score and use their strengths?????? It isn't rocket science.

Han is fine -- JCM, 09:31:15pm 01/09/06 Mon, [1]
I think Han will be fine. I couldn't agree more though on the points on Todd. TOT benched Todd at the end of one game because he was being such a ball hog. He single handledly lost the providence game with poor shooting including missing two lay-ups and taking some very ill advised shots near the end of the game.
We had Clark doing this several years ago and TOT ditched him. Terrance Todd is more balanced than Clark, and doesn't have the same bad attitude clark had but some of the problems are the same to a lessor degree. Todd is clearly is taking too many shots, and too many shots when he is not open. Perhaps he would be more open if he passed the ball more. Todd is the only starter shooting less than 40% from the floor.
