You don't need size in the MAAC...really? -- Stagophile, 01:54:47pm 12/18/05 Sun, [1]
I believe this theory is being slowly thrown out the window...
Marist - 6'11" James Smith (15ppg and 8 rpg)
Iona - 6'8" Kiril Waschmann (12ppg and 8 rpg) and 7'0" Penn State transfer John Kelly suiting up for the first time on Friday against Kentucky.
Loyola - 6'10" Maryland transfer Hassan Fofano suiting for the first time on Friday against Virginia and 6'8" Notre Dame transfer John Israel joining the Greyhounds next year.
You get the picture. There are alot quality big men in the MAAC now.

Rider - 6'9" Jason Thompson (14ppg and 8rpg)
Manhattan - 6'8" Arturo Dubois (10ppg and 6rpg)
St. Peter's - 6'10" Ivan Bozovic (4ppg and 5rpg)

Re: Marist beats St Johns 56-53 -- JoeStag, 05:39:47pm 12/18/05 Sun, [1]
The MAAC teams have done a nice job of replenishing Big Men this year, but over the last 2-3 years, I thought the MAAC had its best group of Big Men/centers than its ever had. And many were 4 year starters
In particular I thought the year when Rob Thomson, Greg Jenkins, James Reeves, Justin Miller, Young of Marist was one of the best..... followed by Ajou , Gai, Castleberry, McClurkin, and Sneizak were 2 really good back to back years.

But none of those teams won it all.
