If there's an even still a game...

I hope we can clamp down on Collins WITHOUT letting someone else have a career game versus us. With the snow storm, I would expect a light turnout so home court advantage will be muted. If we can shoot from the perimeter like we did versus Tulane and Iowa, we take this in single digits. Having free throw shooters like MVS will definitely help us in tight games.

I'll go with the Stags, 75-71.

This will be a good test for both teams.

Though Loyola is 4-0, the jury still has to be out on them given the low quality of their prior opponents.

Ditto for the Stags. They have played some good ball and some bad ball against generally good competition. But they are 1-4. Can they turn it around and be near the top of the MAAC? Or is a 9-18 season in the offing?

For all intents and purposes, both teams are 0-0, since this is the MAAC opener.

A win tonight will pretty much wipe away the bitter taste of the Stags' 1-4 start. A loss will wipe away the good feelings generated by close losses to PC and Iowa and the win versus Tulane.

Similarly a loss for the 'Hounds will tarnish their strong start, but a win will allow them to continue to feel that they have turned the corner.

This should actually be an interesting game. Not something that has often been said about games against Loyola in the past. I think it will be a nailbiter to the final buzzer with the home team winning (I hope).

I believe the Stags will prevail tonite.

While I am not on the Loyola bandwagon I wouldn't pound too hard on the quality of their opponents. Their RPI's average out to 184 as of this morning, (mid-majority site), vs Stags opponents average of 145. Overall the quality is fairly similar.

A win tonite will be a good one for the Stags.

The fact that tonight's game is mid-majority's The Game Of The Night means that Kyle (mid-majority/ESPN) will be in attendance. He usually has a game recap and photos of the game that he will post afterwards. So hopefully we will get a win and some coverage from Kyle!!! And if you haven't visited Kyle's mid-majority.com site yet, you really should check it out.
