If he's not 100% for the next game I'd like to see him redshirt too. Especially if Maxwell and Mamadou both become available. Getting Marty at 80% would be a waste of a season.

Redshirting MOS is an interesting scenario. If TOT's job is on the line, as many posters suggest, I'm sure he'll do whatever it takes to get Marty back in the line up. FFLD with a healthy MOS, Max and Mamadou suddenly becomes a much different team. Without MOS back I don't see Max having as big an effect as many people believe. Remember he was most effective when FFLD had a big man, i.e RT or Gai. Without a legitimate big man Max will be guarded by 6'7", 6'8" guys as athletic as he is. FFLD needs all 3 of these guys healthy to make an impact.

[> [> [> [> Medical hardship - somethings to consider -- JoeStag, 08:38:29pm 12/15/05 Thu, [1]

There is a diiference between a redshirt and a Medical Hardship. To redshirt, MOS could not play in any games this year. So he really falls under a Medical Hardship, where MOS cannot play in more than 5 games and no games in the 2nd half of the season. To be granted a Medical Hardship, Fairfield would have to apply to the NCAA with medical records at the ned of the year. So I think if MOS is cleared by the Doctors, the decision might not be in Fairfield's or MOS's hands. I am sure Fairfield can get a doctor to say he is not 100%, but its still not a slam dunk that he we be awarded another year.

- MOS should not play unless he is 100%

- I think the decision will probably be made on timing and our MAAC Record. If he is ready by Jan 5, which is our next MAAC game vs Siena, and the Jan 9th gme vs Canisius, I think he plays. If he is not ready by then, and we are 2-1 at that point, I think he could play in the Jan 15 game. After that point I think he looks goes for a medical redshirt.

- Another variable for him coming back is Maxwell. If Max comes back, then I think we can make a run for the MAAC with MOS and Max. With only one of those 2, we will be better, but I don't think we we can be a serious contender to win the MAAC. With Neither, we are what we have seen.

- I really like Mamadou, and I think he will eventually be very good, but he has not played in a College game in 2 years (actually 23 months) and he has only about 10 games experience. To expect him to give us immediate impact is asking a lot.

- Another option could be that Maxwell redshirts.
