Subject: Iowa 32 Stags 29 at the Half

Maybe TOT knows something. Who ever would have thought that playing a lineup of guys 6'5" and under could keep it competitive versus Big East and Big Ten teams?

Then again, he really doesn't have a choice does he?

FINAL Iowa 75, Fairfield 59

http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaab/boxscore?gid=200512020276

Got it down to 5 with about 3 minutes to go, then Iowa said enough! Our All-MAAC guard, Todd, was a no show going 3-15. I lost track of the number of give me lay ups he missed. Van Schaick with 17 and Han with 15 were the highlights. Freshman Jon Han continues to impress shooting 44% from 3 pt range going 4-9. Tulane is our opponent tomorrow in the consolation game at 6pm.

Were there 150 Iowa students at the game.... the players are tall and the XBox 360 has been released....

Very proud of the effort tonight. Very questionable calls all night long. Bell drew a clear charge, called a block (and 1). Bell whistled for 2 walks, one of which was not. One stretch in the first half we had a 5 pt lead and went 5 straight possessions with turnovers. Iowa scores and Han gets called for a reach on the rebound off the ball (the shot went in) and thus a 4 point play. Middleton got called for 2 fouls that weren't fouls. Every questionable call went against us, which makes it very tough on the road.

3-pointers and defense kept us in the game. We made one layup from our set offense. Probably had 10 blocked shots against us. Todd and Oglesby continued to go to the hoop with no success. I'm guess that's what you're supposed to do, but it didn't work.

This is the first I've seen of the team this year, I've listened to the other 3 games, and I have to say they're exciting to watch. It is pathetic that we don't have any height.

The final is nowhere near indicative of the game, but I'm sure that can be said for 90% of all college games.

Let's hope we can get our first win tomorrow, I can honestly say we deserve one.

The TV announcers were very impressed with Han, saying he'll lead this team to the NCAA's before he's done... we can hope.

Great effort tonight, GO STAGS.
