Subject: NCAA Bids Announced - Stags NOT Included

Unfortunately, Fairfield was not invited:

The Big east got 7 teams in, including Providence at 6-3-9...the Friars made a decent run in the Big East tourney.

The Ivy League got 3 teams in, which is a bit surprising. Dartmouth, Yale and Brown all tied for the title. Dartmouth earned the automatic bid based on head-to-head against Yale & Brown, but all 3 got in (Fairfield had a better overall record than all three).

From what I can see, Fairfield went 2-1-2 against NCAA tourney teams: Beat NC State and Marist, lost to Marist, and tied Yale and Dartmouth.

Too bad to have such a great season not get in.

Don't see FDU in, surprising since they were ranked 7th, I believe, when we beat them.
Also add a loss to Lafayette to the record vs. tournament teams. 2-2-2 vs. the "elite" is pretty good and it's dispointing that we didn't get in.
Congrats to Marist, hope they represent the MAAC well and hopefully the MAAC gets an at large or two in the coming years.

FF never had a chance at the Tourney once it lost to Marist.

My two favorite teams this year are Fairfield and whoever is playing Rider.

He is suffering from typical New Jersey Myopia. He knows it but simply cannot help himself. He should have gone to Princeton or Rutgers if he actually wanted to talk about teams that anyone cares about in NJ. Oh well, let's move on to something more intelligible than comments from RR.

Bottom line, Hoops and Football put schools on the map...period, end of story. It's great for morale and boosters to have success in other programs. I am a huge soccer fan and was disappointed by the NCAA Slight. But how many REALLY CARE...not too many. I follow other college sports (lax as I live in MD, College WS, etc.) but they simply don't have the clout that the BIG 2 have. FU is NEVER going to be a football school...as I have said, Conn is not a football state compared to Midwestern and Southern states.

So hoops will carry us to any sort of prowess outside the East Coast/Mid Atlantic. Rider and other MAAC Schools face the same challenge...Hoop Teams have to beat bottom Big East/Big 10/SEC/ A-10 teams to get some attention.

Just my two cents...
