But this is different for me from the first pregnancy lie. At the time, T&B were really just getting to know each other. And, at the time, they both seemed to learn from the episode. Todd did not go all apeshit when he found out that Blair hadn't run straight to him to tell him she was pregnant the second time. Why? Because he didn't expect her to be honest about that when the two of them were in the middle of divorcing each other. I'm not saying that lying or even omitting the truth is a good thing, but I am saying that there are times when it's an understandable thing.

This is one of those times. It's not like the DBL, which was pretty fucking bad, or even the first pregnancy lie (pretending to be pregnant to get Todd's millions was not nice at all and was, jmo, the worst pregnancy lie). Todd would have to be stupid to tell the truth about who he is before the enemies are vanquished from the gate. And, once that happens, it's still understandable for him to want to make a new start with his family.

I just really, really want him to get some credit for that. I want Blair to be beyond thrilled that this man she's fallen for is Todd, that he got the chance to do the right thing and took it, and that the only real fear he knows is the fear of losing her and the kids. I want the same thing I wanted when Carlo Hesser outed Todd as Starr's kidnapper.

Do I care whether it makes sense? A little, but not nearly as much as I cared six years ago. Good dialogue and a happy ending (for as long as the soap gods can handle it) are all I ask.
