I didn't mean to zap that potential and possibility from those who are finding it...I'm happy for those tasting wine as I sit at the kiddie table with my juice, really I am. ;) I think this has just made me discover that I have a really strong stance on 'the art of the recast' when it comes to a true favorite.

I've become hooked on my new primetime obsession, and I realize that not only could I not feel that I had the same thing if any of them were to be replaced when I still feel as strongly as I do now, but that recasting established roles doesn't really happen outside of daytime, does it? Whether it's not really 'accepted' beyond it, or just not done? In the non-daytime world, if a character takes an audience by storm and then has to leave for some reason...they might bring in someone similar, or use certain parallels in the character bibles, but just a new face in an old soul daytime recast manuever...I don't know, it just feels, personally for me, like it hurts what was, and leaves a chip on my shoulder for what 'will be' regardless of talent and ability and whether it's plausible or not.

I'm trying to remember a *recast* that worked for me...Bo, from PR to RKK on Days of Our Lives did great things for me, but I hated PR in the role, so I don't think that counts ;); I'll have to burn the tinder of the mind to see if there's ever been an "I loved" to "I loved again" recast that I'm overlooking that might futz with my position, but right now none comes to mind. (Afterthought: Joey on OLTL, from NF to DJ, but then, I wasn't really invested in NF, I just liked him, so...)

Anyway, sorry for the rather pessimistic view squared. It was one of those days yesterday where I was looking at just about everything through my crap colored glasses. ;) I still can't see it, but maybe today I'd be less dramatic *smile*.
