I always considered him among the completely non-recast-able, and that has only grown stronger for me now. I've become more convinced that if I loved the character to begin with, it's usually tightly tied in to actor and character as a bonded element, so recasts overall is something I'd prefer never happens to a beloved character. If I don't care for the person, it doesn't matter, the new actor's potential to be better in a role that's still greatly needed gives it a little more chance to work for me, but overall, I'd prefer a new character with a new foundation to match the new face.

Seeing the character name without the actor...it's just not something I can wrap my mind around.

But I do realize others can, and I never meant to take anything away from those in that position.
