I don't want him to be "good." He's Alan and Monica's son. But I want him to be strong and human. What does it say about how bad the writers are when characters like AJ and Ric and Faith, who do these horribly irredeemable things, have such loud rooting sections primarily because (I think) they stand up to Sonny and Jason - even though we know that, as long as Guza and Pratt are there, Sonny and Jason will always win?
