Subject: Thank-You Mr. Leno!!!!!

I'm sure many Canadians who were totally disgusted at the way our Canadian skaters were shafted of their gold medal at the Olympics would echo my thanks for your gesture on Tuesday evening.

For those that are unaware..... the crooked judges at the figure skating competition awarded the Russian pair a gold medal after an obvious shoddy performance where the man actually stumbled during the final skate. This outraged everyone in the arena as the Canadian duo skated to sheer perfection and knew that they had far outclassed their opponents.

Skip ahead to Tuesday and everyone is saying that the Canadian pair certainly deserved the gold and Jay Leno invited them onto his program last evening. He made the band play Oh Canada and awarded the pair their much deserved gold medal right on the program. The Canadian flag was displayed throughout the show.

Unlike some of the officials involved in the Olympic games, Jay Leno and the NBC staff showed a lot of class and respect for not only our skaters but also for an entire nation.

In turn, Jay Leno has now earned my eternal respect and probably that also of many of my fellow countrymen.

Thanks again Jay.

( Let's hope he still likes Canada after we whip those American hockey players' butts!!)

... I think it's worth clarifying that where you refer to the Russians "obvious shoddy performance" you actually mean in comparison to that of the Canadians!! The Russian team did skate well, just not as well as it takes to claim Olympic Gold!

It outta be interesting, these next few days ... I'm eager to see how this is resolved! Oh and hopefully, this time it will be resolved ... it's gone on too too long!!

A good many of us Americans are also pretty pissed that the Canadians weren't awarded the gold medal they so clearly deserved. Surely you've heard of the French judge whose vote was swayed in favoUr of the Russians in exchange for a vote for the French ice dancing team. Why they don't remove that judge immediately is beyond me!

I remember the Ski Jump judges musta been smashed years ago, when they actually gave Eddie the Eagle style marks

you are right that they were robbed, bull. Can't wait to see if they actually DO anything about it. That french judge should be suspended at the VERY least. Why is this taking the Olympic committee so long i wonder??

i remember Torvill and Dean... and their Bolero program. i was breathless for a week i think! Man... those two are legends!!!

blissed, who gives herself 1.3 on HER figure skating abilities. HAH! =)))

p.s. re leno? would have liked to have seen that. It's not often that Leno is anything but tongue in cheek. Good for him on that show!
