Subject: Marmaduke 2



Joe Mathlete points out that this comic seems to reveal that Marmaduke's imitation of his owner man has led him to have improper thoughts about his owner lady. Mathlete derides creator Brad Anderson for his lack of comic insight, but perhaps Anderson is trying for insight of another variety altogether. Not only does Marmaduke's imitation of owner man often lead to conflicts between the two as they desire the same objects (eg, owner lady) but as conflict heightens in the household, Marmaduke is often blamed for problems which realistically he could not have caused.



After Marmaduke takes the blame for what he could not have actually done, he is sometimes exiled to bring peace to the household once more:
