Subject: Sorting out Psychosis

Alright, after having finished reading Girard's first chapters on Interdividual Psychology, I'm still trying to sort out the relationships of psychosis, hysteria, and ritual possession.

Apparently hysteria shares with psychosis the characteristic of the mimetic rival as the antagonist. Hysteria shares with ritual possession the distinction between the one possessed and the possessor. (Things 319) I'm still a bit confused on the relationship between psychosis and ritual possession. Does anyone have any good explanations or quotes that I might concentrate on to more fully help me comprehend this?

I get the relationship of hypnosis and possession and their relation to desire, but I'm just not solid on this whole triangle of psychosis, hysteria, and ritual possession. Please help!
