I agree. I was actually thinking about this the other day. I can’t remember what exactly sparked the idea right now. But anyway I was thinking how when someone wants someone else to be interested in them but they couldn’t care less and if they finally get their attention then they don’t care as much anymore. You follow? In other words A desires B, B hates A, B finally gives in to A, A loses interest. It’s hard to think about what we would be like if we all got what we desired. Especially since if we desire the same object how can multiple people get the same thing they desired. If we could, then as you point out, it would make sense that no one would have the motivation to work; why bother if you are getting what you desire anyway. Also, when it comes to freedom, if there were no boundaries how could we call it freedom? I agree that “true freedom is found within boundaries” fits. If we all got everything we desired it would be normal and would we be able to say there was even such a thing as “freedom”?
