Subject: 20 pages of good reading.

For those of you who aren't buying Girard's explanation/assertion of the divination of the victim, you may want to read chapter 5 and 6 in _The Scapegoat_. I didn't include them in the syllabus because I can get through the theoretical material pretty quickly in class (and I don't want to have to go through his fight with structural anthropology). But if you want Girard to walk you through details of various myths, these 20 pages are quick and worth it (I'm sure most of you read them anyway).
