That's really neat, Erin. What's interesting is that I had noticed the same imitation/rivalry between David and Uriah, but had imagined it in reverse. When Uriah came to have coffee and sleep over at David's house, he started fishing, and eventually simply asked, whether David was in love with Agnes, and went to great lengths to prevent this. Though his professed admiration for David as a boy might have been false, we don't hear about his loving Agnes until he starts trying to keep David away from her.
