Subject: Later Chapters in "I See Satan Fall..."

I greatly enjoyed reading these later chapters of "I See Satan Fall Like Lightning". Looking at them in a strictly literary sense, I think he does a fantastic job of arguing his point of the uniqueness of the Bible, the Gospels, and the Cross. I think that if you wanted to show someone how the Bible story and the life and death of Christ was important, and NOT involve them in a lot of theological jargon, then Girard's approach to the text would be a great way to start. It was very interesting to read the Gospels from a purely literary standpoint, and I think that Girard is correct in stating, "The Passion accounts, allowing us to understand the single victim mechanism and its mimetic cycles, enable us to find and identify our invisible prison and to comprehend our need for redemption" (150).
