Yes newspapers are losing sales. I think this is only to be expected because there are now other suppliers of information. Newspapers as has been pointed out are no longer the main suppliers of news. And so if they want to survive they will have to change. The papers that I read on examination do not tell a lot of news. I think that I read them just for the articles.
People buy newspapers often for their political opinions.
Their political opinions are already formed but they just want some journalist to confirm for them what they already believe. Why do they want this? probably because they dont have much confidence in their political beliefs. The readers of two leading British newspapers The Daily Express and the Daily Mail are well known for having this type of attitude.
