We talk a lot about Confucianism and ubf. While in Korea I found that Confucianism was spread throughout the Christian Church. Confucism in terms of numbers is down to about 2000, that is in Korea. A tiny minority, but the influence of it can be felt in all aspects of the society.
Yes Confucianism has been corrupted. Confucian influence was ding before the end of the 18th century, it was because its corruption had rendered it almost meaningless that a certain Korean diplomat (whose name I have forgotten) brought back the first book on christian doctrine in I think it was 1789 to dicuss with his friends because he thought it was a successor to confucianism. He was right.
That is how the Korean Church was born.
