((Yep being sick bites, particularly when everyone in family gets the bug. --makes plans to kill younger brother-- :) glad you're feeling better))

Fire. The most dangerous, unpredictable, and more often than not, uncontrollable element known to any species. To coax such an element into behaving the way one wanted it to, you had to have a good portion of your concentration on it, as well as a lot of energy and paitence. Unfortunately for Phoenix he was currently in short supply of all three, that and the muscles in his shoulder were now getting a bit mushy. There was one thing Phoenix hated more than any other and that happened to be pain, sure he could ignore it, but that took more concentration than he was able to spare at the moment. It also didn't help that he spent most of his time hiding from certain people, rather than training his so called Gift.

Since he'd been running and hiding a lot lately it was perfectly normal that he would tire more quickly than he usually did.'All I wanted was to leave here as bemused as I was when I ended up here...Why in all the nine circles of Hell is that too much to flippin' wish for?!' he ranted silently as the heat, he could vaguely feel retreated to a dull warmth. Well there went that plan out the window. "Kuso" The curse was uttered softly, too softly for regular ears to hear. Not true for Undead ears. "I don't suppose you'd do me and the world a favor by jumping into a lake of magma...would you?" The tone was mockingly calm and pleasant, had anyone passing by heard only the tone they'd have thought he was commenting on how lovely the weather was, and not a pool of bubbling lava.

Carefully he shook his head in annoyance before letting go of Dorjan's wrist and bringing the sharp part of his heel down on the other's instep, and pushing hard on his chest. Hopefully this would startle the vampire enough to make him let go or at least loosen his grip. If it did he was so running far, far away.

((Ugh, family giving you back what you already had sucks the worst I think. ^.^; I also just wanted to let you know that I'll be on vacation next Tuesday through Friday, but I might have internet. Dunno if I'll have time to post or not. Hope you had a great New Year!))

.. Dorjan seemed to finally either tire of this little game, or to have reached the edge of his patience with stupidity. He clenched the fist of the hand that Pheonix had in his grip, then jerked backwards with a fair amount of force in an attempt to wrench it free. So much for anything about pressure points. It seemed that Dorjan was willing to strip off a few layers of skin and probably dislocate some of the bones in his hand in exchange for getting the appendage back if Pheonix's own hold faltered. If the boy instead held on, he could very easily topple into Dorjan - that probably being a worse action than simply letting the vampire have his hand back.

The smirk was once more on Dorjan's face, his fangs displayed prominently once more through the gesture. Pheonix's power over fire seemed to be diminishing, and the vampire had picked up on the fact that it might be more difficult for him to get that control back again. If it was, well, all the better for the master vampire and all the worse for the mage. By the looks of things, he wasn't too happy with the attempt at all.

"That was very stupid of you, little bird. I'm certainly going to have to clip your wings now." The hand on Pheonix's shoulder, that had been crushing through muscle and skeletal structure, shifted down and tried to grab him at the elbow. Joints were weaker than sockets, and if he got ahold of that with enough leverage he would try to snap the bones. ..

((OOC: first a cold and now my allergies are acting up.-_-; life sucketh much for me. Besides which Phoenix was refusing to come out and play. New Years was boring, went to sleep at seven at night. Hope you had better one))

'Okay, this is really, really not good, not good at all,' Phoenix's mind was currently babbling at him, a rather annoying thing at the moment. 'I know that. Shut up!'He growled at the voice, frustrated that his own mind didn''t have any clue how to get him out of this mess.

When Dorjan yanked at the hold Phoenix had on his wrist the red head thought about not letting go. 'Yeah, not letting go would be a very bad idea at the moment,' it seemed the more practical side of his brain was still a little helpful. Since he really did not want to be yanked into the vampire he let go at the absolutely last second gouging deep furrows into the other's flesh, which gave him a small amount of sadistic satisfaction.

Once the vampire let go of his shoulder Phoenix quickly moved his arm away from the attempt to grab it, 'cause giving the pissed off male an easy opportunity to be the source of a hell of a lot of pain was a mistake that even he wasn't stupid enough to make. Hopefully he was successful in his attempt at keeping his joints from harm...for now anyways.

Listening to Dorjan's words Phoenix hissed low in his throat before correcting the other. "No you don't have to do any such thing, you simply want to," his tone dripped with enough acid to dig a hole to the center of the earth. Needless to say he rather objected to the idea of getting his "wings", or any other part of his anatomy for that matter, clipped as the vampire so colorfully put it.

((It's perfectly alright. I was actually on vacation for about a week. Sadly, now I have to go back to classes. :/ Sorry to hear that yours wasn't much - wasn't much better over here, lol. Just really watched the ball drop in NY on the TV.))

.. Pheonix's action of holding onto the vampire's limb until the last possible moment, tearing out the most flesh in his action, drew yet another sharp hiss from Dorjan. He wasn't playing around, and something like a few scratches from his perspective weren't going to stop him yet, but that didn't stop it from being minutely distracting at that moment in time. He continued the backwards motion of the arm, extending it behind him and flexing it gingerly. Even as he made the movements, Dorjan's preternatural immune system kicked in and began a slower process of healing. The need to feed was starting to eat away at certain things.

With his attention split between healing and re-catching 'his little bird', Dorjan's first movement to grab the mage's elbow failed. Yet he was not easily detered, and quickly made another try at getting ahold of the human's arm. He was still intent on the same series of actions if he was able to, yet missing again could place him in an odd position in relation to Pheonix and allow the other to push his luck for escaping.

"You're here tresspassing in my home and expect to get out of here without losing something?" the grin spread wider across his face, "You're sorely mistaken, my little pet. Daylight is something you'll learn to see from indoors and only at someone else's whim." And here he goes with the threats again. ..

(( Gah! Many thousands of apologies *bows contritely* I am so sorry it's taken me so long to reply! my computer has been being evil and kept eating whatever i typed!*peeks through fingers* don't eat me?))

Phoenix managed to dodge Dorjan's first attempt at getting his arm back, but that was purely the luck of having the vampire's attention split at the moment. That wouldn't last long though, even if the other's healing ability seemed to be slower than usual. 'Odd, mostly things like that heal right away,' his naturally curious mind pondered to itself as he watched the flesh knit back together.

'Hullo! Wake up! wonder about that later!' only his instincts allowed him to dodge the second attempt and try to slink back behind the tree, since the vampire was most likely, though briefly, thrown off balance.

At the threat Phoenix froze and his already narrow eyes became slits that shot flames and sparks of hellfire at Dorjan. "Fuck you," the words were hissed, most likely not the wisest choice of words but oh well, and lips curled into the most animal like snarl yet to be seen on his face so far. Usually he was more picky about what wording he used; however, Dorjan made him angry enough to not give a damn about words and the various inflections they had.

"I am not your fucking pet, and I certainly am not going to be," if people could be burnt by the tone of someone's voice alone then Dorjan would have been ashes. Alas, such a thing was not possible so the vampire was still standing and not ash. Good for Dorjan, bad for Phoenix.

.. The fact that he wasn't able to get Pheonix's wrists made the vampire even more thoroughly frustrated and angry. His patience on this little game was starting to tire, and he was more than ready to have it over with so he could get on to doing something more entertaining. As Pheonix darted behind the tree, Dorjan growled under his breath. Frustrated wasn't even going to begin to describe the vampire's mood at this point.

Of course, the mage's interesting choice of words ripped a sour, poisoned laugh from his throat. "Oh, how priceless you truly are!" Slowed by vampiric standards from his need to feed, though still faster than a human at its best, Dorjan moved around the tree after Pheonix. His wounded arm moved out in another attempt to grab the mage around the elbow harshly, grip if succeeding quickly exceeding a comfortable standard.

"You'll pay back your debt in some way or another, bird. Whether you like it or not." The smirk was back on his face, the others' words having chased off his threatening boredom and growing frustration. All it took was a little bit of something to make things more interesting for him, after all. ..

Phoenix had always prided himself on being able to tell when someone was pissed off with a good degree of accuracy, though the fact that one could practically taste the vampire's anger and frustration was probably one of the reason he could tell with Dorjan at the moment.

Unable to help himself the mage let a slight smirk tug at the corners of his lips. 'at least I'm not the only one who's getting annoyed with this "game",' in retrospect that was not a good thing. an angered vampire was not going to contribute to his continued good health...OK, maybe good health was an over statement because currently he was exhausted and his shoulder was throbbing in time with his heartbeat. Still he was in better health than he could have been, at the moment anyway.

Dorjan's word sent a bit of a chill up his spine and he had to visibly shake it off. Priceless was currently not a word he wanted associated with himself. the change of mood also threw him off balance a bit. which was most likely why he didn't manage to dodge in time to escape the vampire's grasp this round.

Phoenix hissed and his eyes flashed with an anger that was directed at both the vampire and himself. he managed to ignore the fact that the hold on his elbow was not the most comfortable thing in the world and almost hurt, but he did not manage to ignore Dorjan's words. "I already apologized to you... I owe you nothing," this was hissed with the uttermost venom and contempt as he strained against his captor's hold.

((I really must apologize a million times over for taking so long - continually so, as well. Ended up with the flu and in the E.R. a bit back (nothing serious, student health was closed of all the stupid things). And have had a rather hard time of it lately with the person I'm living with (hopefully will be solved - trying to move). I really truly am sorry - I feel like I've been neglecting this far, far too much.))

Pleased with the fact that he'd finally managed to get his hold around the other male back, Dorjan squeezed his hand a bit to apply pressure in a sort of mock warning to the other. If he stepped too far out of bounds then Dorjan was more than willing to try and snap the bone. The smirk that danced its way across his face was almost a complete turn from his earlier mood swing - though undoubtedly some of it was faked. Pheonix was still proving to me more of a handfull than Dorjan had originally intended, and that simply wasn't something that he enjoyed.

"An apology! Do you really think that that's going to get you off the hook?" He paused a moment, letting his fangs show a bit more, "I really wouldn't count on that." Dorjan tried to jerk the other forward via his grip on the elbow, his free hand reaching out once more after the other arm and this time he wasn't picky about what it was that he grabbed. He wanted to make damn sure this time that he had ahold of the man.

"Now, little pet, are you to be paying in blood or with some other method?" The smirk deepened to a degree, then fell off into a pleasant smile that was too candy-coated to be anything close to real. Dorjan was threatening Pheonix rather plainly for the vampire's usual methods. Perhaps a more direct approach would work more in his favor? Somehow, he didn't seem entirely convinced of that luxury himself.

((I'm really truly sorry for my delay -_-; unforeseen circumstances have kept me away from the computer lately...not to mention that Phoenix was being uncooperative... I hope that your situation has improved and hopefully I'll be able to reply faster in future))

Despite the fact that Phoenix knew there was no way out of his predicament now, it didn't stop him from struggling against the other, crimson eyes trying their damnedest to barbecue the vampire who currently held him captive. The added pressure to his elbow made him hiss a bit, but it in no way deterred him from his efforts to get free...even doomed to failure as they were.

"Don't see why an apology shouldn't work, it's more than anyone else has ever gotten from me...you should actually consider yourself flattered," the tone with which this statement was delivered was loaded with contempt and sarcasm. Though there was also just a hint of how tired Phoenix was mixed in underneath it all, though hopefully Dorjan wouldn't pick up on it.

He was startled by the jerk enough that it tipped him off balance a little bit, though he moved his free arm as far away from the reaching vampire as possible, hopefully keeping it from being captured.

At the threat all tiredness in Phoenix vanished for a bit and he glared at Dorjan with enough heat to put the sun to shame. "I could always pay you with a one way ticket to the Underworld...I'm sure Set and Anubis would be glad to play with you,"he growled at the other male before aiming a kick at Dorjan that would hopefully make him let go, or at least leave bruises for a bit. An effort that was dangerous, stupid, and most likely wasted, but that didn't keep him from trying.
