Subject: My band had it's first gig... details in side =)



(That's us) played our first gig, a battle of the bands on last friday (The 16th). We were ranked 2nd, out of 9 bands, but if you ask me we really came in first... and I'll tell you why! =)

First place won $200 cash. That's it. Nice chunk of change... split between their 4 members, not to bad. (I think they put it all toward something for the whole band though.) Better than a kick in the head, if you ask me.

Now here's what we won: Personally, I won a new guitar, a Dean Phantom ML (see picture below) which is all black (That's the deal with the Phantom Series, all black). That itself, has a retail value of about $700. Plus, about two or three dozen pairs of drum sticks, 5 dozen sets of strings (4 boxes of guitar strings, and one box of bass strings), I think 10 guitar stands, a few new guitar cords, a very nice mic. Well over 200 dollars worth of gear. And like a half gross (6 dozen or 72) guitar picks... I can't recall much more... but I think that was about it. So, yeah, we made out like bandits.
