潮流

「潮人」所追逐的「潮」，在六十年代被稱為「時興」。七至八十年代被稱為「潮流」。九十年代被稱為「流行文化」。進入千禧後，簡稱為「潮」。

市面上每日湧現形形色色的資訊（雜誌、評論、廣告等等）去披露所謂最新最 update 潮中物。說真，「潮」是社會上層製造和複製（「復古」）的產品。「楝樑」從緊貼潮流獲得認同和成功感 –– 十分困難地從實質工作和人際關係獲得的東西。

為了令「楝樑」更方便去了解和緊貼潮流（也可以寫成「為了令「楝樑」更方便去麻醉於潮流」），潮流絕不可以抽象化和流於表現主義。六十年代象徵美國主流意識形態的 pop art 可被視為潮流的變異。 pop art 把潮流的商業味一下子提升至 high arts（註：歐洲社會視美國 pop art 為 low arts），結果 pop arts 成為美國當代藝術，走進美術館裡，但與庶民脫鉤 –– 了解和緊貼潮流必須毫無技術可言，否則「楝樑」會感到吃力和挫敗。

實際的遊戲規則是潮流必需是可被預測、通俗和付費。

潮流必須配合商品推出。「楝樑」為了緊貼潮流，他們必需長期依賴潮流資訊。

資訊要通俗，例如「潮人」必備的 iPod ，它與其他的 mp3 （請勿讀作 mp 衫）播放機同樣擁有 mp3 播放功能。「潮人」只知道 iPod 「潮」，只要 iPod 夠「潮」，我又夠錢買，不需知道音樂是甚麼，更加不需知道怎樣從電腦入歌。

潮流不是文化。如前段所述，「潮人」必須依賴潮流資訊，就像道友要毒品一樣，所以不應該免費。另一方面，免費取得的潮流資訊對「潮人」來得太容易，他們沒有「艱苦」地發掘過，沒有成功感，潮流變得沒有意義。

民主社會往往奉行資本主義，因為選票的力量不及潮流的麻醉力。「楝樑」忙著緊貼潮流，沒有空去理會社會上層的所作所為。
