Thanks David for starting this new site for NIE folks. A place where we can ramble and stomp our feet and maybe even say"damnit" once in a while. right?
LIke most of us, I fight every day for the "EDUCATION" part of NIE and risk my life and my job to avoid the "D" part—Dumping.
I love the training part. I "paper-train" between 3-500 Kentucky teachers a year to go back into their classroom and train their students. I love the new research that tells us that if our NIE programs used correctly newspapers in the classroom can increase standardized test scores 3-10%. Teachers love that info too.
I also go around the country and train NIE profesionals. That is a real blast. NIE training (in its many forms) is essential to have a strong, long lasting, effective NIE program.
Well, David, thanks again for all you do to help others. Your soul is strong, let's hope God continues to keep your heart healed.
