Concordo com você! THANASOULAS (2000) e BENSON & VOLLER (1997), de certa forma, também: "... autonomous learning is by no means 'teacherless learning" (THANASOULAS, 2000, §9); "As Sheerin (1997, cited in Benson & Voller, 1997:63) succintly puts it, 'teachers... have a crucial role to play in launching learners into self-access and in lending them a regular helping hand to 'stay afloat'" (THANASOULAS, 2000, §10).

A propósito, o que Thanasoulas escreve logo após esses trechos é muito interessante, mencionando o papel do professor para a promoção de autonomia e as dificuldades que isso implica. Vale a pena reler o que, no que texto dele que lemos, traz o subtítulo "Conditions for learner autonomy"!
