Subject: Verbal Thought - Vygotsky

Caros Colegas,

Lev S. Vygotsky (1962) escreveu 'Pensamento e Linguagem'. Ele hipotetizava que pensamento e linguagem se diferem em suas origens genéticas e assim, se desenvolvem por curvas de desenvolvimento diferentes. Estas duas curvas se juntam por volta de 2 anos de idade para começar um novo comportamento. Inicialmente, o pensamento é não-verbal e a fala não-intelectual, mas por volta de 2 anos de idade, quando estas áreas se juntam, o pensamento se torna verbal e a fala racional. Esta é a teoria verbal de Vygotsky.
Como Little (1997 - 2001 p:8) coloca em seu texto 'towards greater learner autonomy in the foreign language classroom' - "our personalities and abilities develop as we mature, but they are the personalities and abilities we were born with, not the ones our parents or teachers decided to impose on us. "
Já na página 9, Vygotsky apud Little coloca: "cognitive functions are internalized from social interaction, which is shaped by language".

Mas, colegas, se a funçoes cognitivas sao internalizadas da interação social, como não há influencia das personalidades e habilidades que nossos pais e professores impõem??
