Caro Marcelo,

Acho que a cultura e aprendizagem da língua são intimamente interligados. Em "Teaching by Principles- An Interactive Approach to Language Pedagogy de H. Douglas Brown, ele afirma:
'The affective principles are more central to the emotional processing of human beings. They are related to feelings about self, about relationships in a community of learners, and about the emotional ties between language and culture. '

Quando o aluno estuda ingles na escola, ele veincula o idioma diretamente ao americano. Essa onda de anti-americanismo, repugnância por Bush, 'invasão' do estrangeirismo em nosso idioma são fatores que faz com que a motivação e a vontade que o aluno possa ter em aprender o idioma fiquem estagnadas.

Acho que um trabalho de conscientização da importancia de se saber o ingles hoje em dia, como eles podem se sair melhor na vida se souberem ingles, precisamos de ingles para coisas basicas na vida seria um dos caminhos para fazer com que eles se tornem mais interessados.
Para isso, podemos abusar de nossa criatividade e montarmos projetos e trabalhos diversos.
