Subject: The Travels Of Frank Cadillac: "The Rogues Of Rock Are No More"

I hadn't spoken to Frank Cadillac since the release of his album "Fade Away To The Sun" in December 2006. And last week I called him for his birthday on April 9th and we spoke for quite a long time. Overall Cadillac was quite displeased with the album because as he put it :" I can't believe that inspite of all the work that went into this project as far as rehearsals, gigs, and studio time, we never came together as a unit, and regardless of the fact that each of us is an accomplished, brilliant musical entity, nothing brilliant happened on this album".I asked him if he would reconsider playing again with Rogues of Rock and his answer was an omnious "never again, the Rogues Of Rock are no more".I asked him if he had heard from former drummer Howard Mermelstein and bass player Robert Mast, to which Cadillac replied "Hardly--they thought I was off my rocker for taking such a hard stand about this album, but the die is cast." "Fade Away To The Sun" is available on www.cdbaby.com/cd/roguesofrock as are his other two albums "Magic Of Love" and "I Need Mercy" at www.cdbaby.com/frankcadillac.
Cadillac has plans to go back into R.E.M. Studios in New Jersey for another album in the late spring.
Regarding his film career Cadillac mentioned that the last film project in which he had a lenghty supporting role
was a film written and directed by Minos Papas which is intitled "Shutterbug". This work is now in post production and Cadillac did not mention a release date. He did speak quite profusely about how it was great to work along Nando Del Castillo who had starred with Cadillac in the filmshort Kalipolis another film by Minos Papas. As Cadillac recalls one scene in Shutterbug : "Nando was so tired and absent minded that he kept forgetting his lines and so I started breaking his balls calling him Nando-Brando in honor of Marlin Brando who was notorious for flubbing and forgetting his lines", but Cadillac added."Nando's brilliance as an actor always came through and in the end he always shined".I asked what his plans were for the future and he quoted David Byrne "Same As It Ever Was".
