Well, I guess it's all about the special effects and new technology, which provides one of the ironies of this anti-tech film. And it was also anti-consumerist, another irony since they spent hundreds of millions to make it (shades of WALL.E). And the Americans were portrayed as thuggish cretins who will make an enemy of anyone who has something they want. Less irony on that one, until we techie-consumerist-thug-cretins in the audience cheer our own defeat at the end. Ah, the Lynx loves irony. :-)

I was reading one conservative blogger who actually claimed that it was conservative propaganda, although I couldn't follow his logic, or lack thereof.

The story was pretty predictable, although I didn't have a problem with it this time. It was quite an achievement and I enjoyed every minute of it.
