I've always been under the impression that ALL of these "sales parties" were a scam. A couple of my aunts are severely into the Langenberger basket scam. They've spent thousands on these baskets over the last few years, and they're just baskets.

Whether they did something illegal or not, I have no clue, but it would likely cost you more to take action against them than it would to just eat the cost that they shafted you with.
