I can't really comment on the recent stuff, as the past few months I've been working nonstop and have spent maybe 5 minutes watching non-sports television. All I know is that when I watch the regular broadcasts, the anchors always sound completely impartial to me, whereas when I watch Fox, within 60 seconds I can tell that the anchor is a right-winger (or is being told to speak as if he/she is).

As far as asserting bias based on the amount of coverage given to something, I think that can be a stretch sometimes. I won't disagree that news directors will sometimes try to bury a story, but I think 99.999% of the time, they just run the stories that they think will generate the highest ratings, regardless of which "side" the story benefits. The more damaging sort of bias, in my opinion, is when a story is reported in a way that spins it in one direction or the other. I wasn't asking for examples of reporting bias to try and stump you or anything... I just wanted to know what it is that you see when you turn on CNN that makes it seem biased to you. Because it seems awfully fair to me (excluding guest blowhards, of course).

Lately I've resorted to getting most of my news on my cell phone over lunch from the Yahoo news national and political sections, and the coverage there seems balanced as well.
