Subject: The Weird Series

Do any of you watch the Weird U.S. series on the Travel Channel? There's now a companion series of books. They haven't covered all the states yet, but have done quite a few of them. I read Weird Arizona last week, and it was delightful from start to finish. It covers a little bit of everything; legends, haunted places, weird attractions, colorful characters past and present, and so on. It is filled with great color photos, and the text is very amusing. I haven't read any of the others yet, but based on this one, I recommend this series. I needed some cheering up and this book did the trick.

Check out the cover. It features one of the Holbrook dinosaurs, the most Flintstonian one they could find. :-)
