My daughter did it the other way around, and that worked out beautifully, too. She actually went to tech school concurrently with high school. Then, when she moved out here near us, she also got a real estate license. Those two things gave her the skills to get a great job in the resort industry, and now she goes to college part time on her days off, majoring in philosophy. Since she already makes more money than almost any entry level job for a college graduate, combined with the fact that she has marketable skills, then there's a lot less guilt about studying arts and sciences. :-)
