Dumbledore's sexual orientation has been a matter of speculation for some time, and I have to admit that I suspected he was gay. As people go over the dialogue in the seventh book, it's apparent that Rowling was throwing out clues all over the place vis a vis Grindelwald, Dumbledore's childhood friend who becomes a notorious evil wizard. At one point Dumbledore said something like "Everybody could see what was happening to him except me." What distressed lover hasn't said something like that?
