Deschanel is really a terrific actress. I've seen her in Mumford, Eulogy, and other stuff, and have been really impressed with her, so I would tend to think that the problems were more with the script and direction. She certainly had none of her usual spark here.

As happens so many times, this production didn't seem to know what it was. Campy or straight or parody. It just jumped around all over the place.
