Actually, he's the top candidate based on my input. After reviewing the others' at-a-glance stances in the Agree/Disagree list, he hit my important issues with the exception of health care -- but then, it seems like it's the "fad" topic for this election isn't it?

I just don't see universal health care as conceived by some of the front-runners as a cure. I think the government could step in as an initial fix in the same way they stepped in to subsidize the airlines after 9/11, but I can't wrap my mind around how government-run health care will be a benefit in the long run. To me it seems that we'd be trading one cost problem for another. (Look at the wellfare success. That's not to say I don't agree with its existence but it is abused.)

There already is a groundswell movement locally. It's one example, but it's powerful. It speaks to pricing and the consumer response to transparency (if you'll forgive the buzzword). It also speaks to the growing understanding and demand that it isn't only the "health care industry" that's responsible for our sky-rocketing costs (even if it is mostly that) -- it speaks to our, the consumer's, power to shop the least expensive but still reliable service and choose it. Which in turn drives competitors costs down, which in turn drives all costs down and makes the insurers more flexible in what and how they cover services.

Whoa, I'm on the soapbox and that's not where I intended to be. Anyway, that's the gripe I have with Biden. :)
